I only know about the one system but in general I really disliked working for a for-profit system, because it really shows in your workflow. David's is also shooting for magnet status now so they are no longer hiring anyone with less than a bachelor's degree. Also they will resist you every step of the way on reimbursement so don't even start to think you'll hit that max amount. You can get up to $5250/year in tuition reimbursement but the caveat is that you are also signing a two year contract with them (and who's gonna stick around for 2 more years once they've obtained their NP?). St David's has a tuition reimbursement program if you want to pursue a higher degree. St David's is owned by HCA which is for-profit so there is no such deal. ![]() But! Since Seton is a non-profit, you are eligible for complete federal loan forgiveness after 10 years working in their system. They also have $150/month (or $75/month for part-time) loan repayment program with no strings attached. St David's might give you a sign-on bonus but you have to sign a two-year contract. Just search that term in this nursing subreddit to see how awful it is. Seton has a much, much better charting system and St David's uses Meditech. But you weren't there before so that has no bearing on how it will be for you when you start.
